Heartbeat Evolves: 9 New Intelligence Sections for Shopify
Heartbeat now splits into two focused sub-pages and adds nine new data sections to Shopify Intelligence — hourly sales heatmaps, revenue by ticket price, buyer loyalty breakdowns, repeat buyer tracking, payment method analytics, fulfillment status, risk monitoring, and sales channel insights — all computed live from Shopify.
Since launching Heartbeat last week, we’ve been watching how teams use it during live events. The biggest piece of feedback: the page was doing too much. Real-time raffle velocity and a Shopify store snapshot are both valuable, but they serve different needs at different moments. Today’s update gives each its own space and adds several new capabilities.
Two Dedicated Sub-Pages
Heartbeat now has a collapsible sub-menu in the sidebar, just like the Response Assistant. Click the arrow to expand it and you’ll see two focused pages:
- Live Dashboard — Everything related to your active raffle: sales velocity ticker, vital signs, surge detection, payment breakdown, package performance, hourly heatmaps, jackpot comparisons, and the live orders feed. Polls every 5 seconds for real-time data.
- Shopify Intelligence — Your Shopify store’s daily snapshot: revenue, orders, average order value, refunds, geographic hotspots, top products, and top buyers. Fetches live from Shopify every time you open the page.
Each sub-page only runs the polling it needs. When you’re on the Live Dashboard, Shopify queries don’t fire. When you switch to Shopify Intelligence, the 5-second raffle ticker stops. This means less unnecessary network traffic and a snappier experience.
City-Level Geographic Tracking
The “Where Orders Are Coming From” map now shows city-level detail. You’ll see entries like “Thunder Bay, Ontario” or “Toronto, Ontario” instead of just a province-level breakdown. Lightspeed pulls address data from shipping, billing, and customer default addresses to give you the most accurate geographic picture of your buyers — especially useful for digital products and raffle tickets where shipping addresses aren’t always present.
Live Freshness Timestamps
The Shopify Intelligence header now shows exactly when data was last refreshed — “Updated 3:45 PM ET” — so you never have to wonder whether you’re looking at stale numbers. A footer confirms the refresh cadence and when data resets. If the system detects that order data hasn’t synced in over 30 minutes, a visible warning appears so your team knows to check the connection.
Always-Live Data from Shopify
Shopify Intelligence now pulls data directly from the Shopify API every time you open the page — up to 10,000 of your most recent orders, computed on the fly and cached for two minutes. No more waiting for sync cycles, no more stale pre-computed tables, no more mismatched numbers. What you see is what Shopify has, period.
Hourly Sales Heatmap
A 24-hour bar chart shows when your buyers are most active. Each bar represents one hour of the day with order count and revenue on hover. Use it to time social posts, email blasts, and raffle announcements for when your audience is actually buying.
Revenue by Ticket Price
Line items are grouped by unit price — $25, $50, $100 tickets — so you can instantly see which price tier is carrying the raffle. Each row shows units sold and total revenue with a proportional bar chart.
Buyer Loyalty & Repeat Buyers
Two new sections show how concentrated your buyer base is. The Buyer Loyalty card breaks down how many customers placed 1 order, 2 orders, 3+, etc. The Repeat Buyers card highlights your most loyal supporters — people who came back for a second (or third) purchase — with their order count and total spend.
Payment Method Breakdown
See exactly how your buyers are paying: credit card, Shop Pay, PayPal, or other gateways. Each method shows the order count and percentage. Useful for understanding whether alternative payment options are worth promoting.
Fulfillment Status Tracker
A quick-glance breakdown of fulfilled vs. unfulfilled vs. in-progress orders. Color-coded dots make it easy to spot a backlog at a glance — especially useful after a big raffle close when physical prizes need to ship.
Order Risk Monitor
Shopify flags orders as high, medium, or low risk based on its fraud detection. The risk monitor surfaces these counts so your team can spot potential issues early. When everything is clean, you’ll see a reassuring “All clear” message.
Sales Channel Insights
If you sell across multiple channels (Online Store, Buy Button, POS, etc.), this section shows revenue and order count per channel. Only appears when you have more than one active channel, so it stays out of the way for single-channel stores.
Unified Shopify Experience
The standalone Shopify Analytics page that previously lived in the sidebar has been consolidated into Heartbeat › Shopify Intelligence. All your Shopify store data now lives in one place alongside your raffle data. One tool, one sidebar entry, zero context-switching.
Keyboard & Command Palette
Both new sub-pages are accessible from the command palette (Cmd+K or Ctrl+K). Type “heartbeat” or “shopify” to jump directly to either page. Direct URLs also work: /heartbeat/live and /heartbeat/shopify.
